Sacramental Programme
The Sacramental Programme of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion starts in Year 3.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation is received by baptised Catholic children in Year 3.
Year 3 take the next step along their faith journey, by receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation. It is a chance to say sorry to God for the things they have done that have hurt God, others and themselves. When God created man, in his image and likeness, he knew he would make wrong choices so he gave us the gift of Reconciliation so that we have the opportunity to put our wrongs right and grow closer to God; following in his ways.
Holy Communion
After the children have received their Sacrament of Reconciliation, they receive the Sacrament of Holy Communion.
For children, making their First Holy Communion is a major milestone that means they are growing up in their faith and becoming full participants in their Church community. It is a transition from just watching their parents to actively taking part themselves.
